Curve Fashion

Half Full|Curve: Resort Wear 2018 Runway

“We must call this- Curve Fashion. Plus size is too outdated” 2

Sensitivity towards design and it’s application in real life strongly stated it’s space in the shows at the Lakmé India Fashion Week this January. The massive range of services provided by 6 degree platform showcased an upcoming market. Fashion brands running under ‘Design with a purpose’ ethic are still scare and one such was Half Full | Curve.

The runway was splash with mints and peaches, bobs and blues as minimally embroidered garments were showcased one after another. A silhouette for every age starting from off shoulder dresses to dhoti pant-like drapes achieved the loudest of cheers. Free flowing fabrics such as chiffon and satin turned into the most complimenting choice for curves. The floral embroidery added a sweet look to the garments making them a must have in your summer wardrobes.

Leaving aside the tones and embellishments, the most important aspects highlighted at the show was the brand’s aesthetic itself. They believe in stitching fashion with the threads of realism. The showcase managed to change my vocabulary from ‘Plus size fashion’ to ‘Curved fashion’. It is time we realize how important it is to curate to the Indian size chart because ‘curves are beautiful’ and we ain’t going nowhere.
