Picking out 5 pieces of apparel from my wonder wadrobe, I began to look at the detailed structure of it’s construction. Each of them belonged to a varied fabric category. Most of them were blends and had special wash and care instructions. Let us study each of them in detail.
Garment 1: Pink Formal Jacket
Content:
Outer
- 79% Polyster
- 17% Viscose
- 4% Elastane
Lining
- 100% Polyster
The finely finished semi-formal jacket from Vero Moda is well finished with 2 different fabrics. It is lined with a finely structued fabric that provides comfort on the inside. However, this is a heavily blended fabric does not contain any natural fibres.
Garment 2: Black cocktail dress
Content:
Outer
- 100% Polyster
Lining
- None
This evening dress from H&M has a perfect shiny look to it. The fabric can be misjudged to be satin as it is equally smooth and flowy. The weave of the fabric reflects light making it look glamorous.
Garment 3: Pink Ribbed Sweater
Content:
Outer
- 55% Acrylic
- 45% Cotton
Lining
- None
The feel of the top is such that of a woolen sweater. It tends to elongate as the knitted structure provides elasticity. The fine knit creates a beautiful texture to the top and it quite heavy as a whole. The size of knit varies on the shoulder from that on the chest band.
Garment 4: Soft black Kurta
Content:
Outer
- 100% Viscose
Lining
- 100% Viscose
This Kurta is finished at the neck, hemline and armholes using textured golden lace. It is extremely light weight and and falls comfortably. Coming from a mid-range brand- Shrushti, no wash care instructions have been mentioned.
Garment 5: Black formal Jacket
Content:
Outer
- 95% Cotton
- 5% Lycra
Lining
- 100% Polyster
The outer shell has emborsed texture throughout. The well finished jacket is lined with polyster fabric like the first item. It consists of added details such as gold chains for pockets and shoulder pads for a stiff structure.
