Week 3 at Elle was a mix of responsibility and opportunity. I began to unpack the May cover shoot bags only to realise that the return couriers of the feature had not been sent on Saturday.
I started to make the paperwork required for the couriers to be sent. Tuesday arrived with a startling wave when all couriers sent yesterday came back due to change in paperwork policies of DHL. It took me another day to figure out the issue and solve it. Until then I sent the runners to hand deliver items sourced from Mumbai itself. Slow an steady, the fashion closet was being emptied.

On Thursday, the fashion editor- Rahul Vijay asked me to write a 100 word review on iPhone XR’s camera. And he said it would be in the print edition. I was super excited about the article and managed to deliver within 3 hours. Hoping Friday would bring the weekend vibe, I woke up to an email stating a scarf belonging to H&M, Delhi was delivered to Alexander Wang, New York. I quickly informed my editor taking full responsibility of the confusion. He calmly stated a solution asking me to focus on the 2 hotel reviews I was asked to write for the June edition.

Next week, I will be working with Neville Bhandara- the features editor for my articles that will be published both in print and digitally.
NOTE TO SELF: Sometimes the chances we get may seem irrelevant to our job profile. But as an intern, it is our job to explore and deliver the best. Only then will the employer’s trust grow and doors will open.
